AC Milan chief Leonardo was delighted with Kaka's decision to reject Manchester City this week.
"It was a happy ending," Leonardo, who is technical director for the San Siro outfit, told Sky Italia television.
"We are tired because the emotions were running high, but there was a moment of reflection for everyone and at the end it all emerged stronger than before.
"Kaka was very relaxed and happy afterwards. He was in a difficult situation because there were so many people involved, including the fans, who proved decisive.
"President [Silvio] Berlusconi and Ricky's father [Bosco Leite] did well to consider every angle. There were so many things to evaluate and it all became very difficult, but they understood this love cannot come to an end.
"We all realised there were other things that had to be considered. We live for these emotions and that night was extraordinary."
