AC Milan chief Galliani wants Fiorentina's Gamberini

AC Milan are switching their sights in swap talks with Fiorentina over the departure of Alberto Gilardino.

Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has been locked in talks with Gilardino's agent, Beppe Bonetto, about moving the player to Florence in the summer.

While Fiorentina keeper Sebastien Frey has been mentioned as a target for Galliani, Controcampo says it is teammate Alessandro Gamberini who is really wanted by Milan.

Galliani and his football staff see Gamberini as a potential successor for veteran Paolo Maldini and want the defender in exchange for Gilardino at the end of the season.
