AC Milan chief Galliani: Seedorf always going to succeed Allegri

AC Milan chief Adriano Galliani admits they were always planning to appoint Clarence Seedorf as Massimiliano Allegri's successor.

Galliani revealed they planned to bring in Seedorf at season's end, before Allegri's sacking last week.

"We had already agreed for Seedorf to take over from July 1, but considering the circumstances we thought it would be better for Milan and for Clarence to bring the whole project forward by half a season," Galliani told Sky Sport Italia.

"It is an intuition of President Silvio Berlusconi, just as it was his intuition that took us to Arrigo Sacchi and Fabio Capello. He chose the Coach."
