AC Milan chief Galliani: I’ve told Beckham we want him back next season
AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has told an injured David Beckham they want him to return next season.
Beckham has suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon after breaking down in yesterday's victory over Chievo Verona.
"He will probably be out for five or six months," lamented Galliani. "I saw him in pain. In the changing room I hugged him and I told him that if he wants, he can return to us next year. These incidents tarnish the joy of the win.
"Beckham came to AC Milan so to be called by (England coach Fabio) Capello, unfortunately, this is football .. but David has a great strength of mind."
Beckham, on-loan from LA Galaxy, will leave Milan today for Finland where he will be operated on by surgeon Sakari Orava.
Galliani added: "The doctor? He's a luminary in his field."

Hi to all the players and supportes of ac milan . i'm from malta. I send my wishes to david and to get ell soon and i send my appriciation to the coach leonardo for the formation and the way he's moving the team . to all the players keep it up.
No we don't. I feel sorry for Becks, but Milan needs to get better talent in house NOW. Living with all these old and tired players aren't helping at all. Good, young, talent needs to be signed. If it was up to Berlu, he'd continue starting "champions" like Kaladze, Dida, Favaldinho, Janku, Oddo, Onyewu, etc... forever. Just so he could pocket extra money. Where is the money from Sheva and Kaka's sale? Where are the great young players? Pato will leave in the next few years and we'll have to hear from Berlu how an overrated Borriello is a "champion".
Becks we want you back in the red and black in 2011 - get well soon.
