AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani is disappointed with Diego Della Valle's decision to step down as Fiorentina president.
Della Valle announced he was leaving the post yesterday after clashing with coach Cesare Prandelli.
"I state that I have not followed the case closely," said Galliani. "I'm really sorry, because Diego Della Valle is a friend and also a great entrepreneur who was good for all Italian football.
"I do not know what the real reason for this decision was, I can only say that we've lost a major contributor and this can not be pleasing. Florence deserves an important president."
