AC Milan chief Galliani confirms plans for January defensive signing

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani admits they're in the market for a new defender.

Galliani says they hope to strengthen their defence this month.

"If there is an opportunity to strengthen our defence, we will take it," he said, "but we will intervene in the market only if there is an opportunity.

"The attack instead stays as it is and (Pippo) Inzaghi will return in March.

"The market closes on January 31, and I think no one would have thought in August that in the end would come Robinho and Ibrahimovic. I think it is very difficult to repeat this, but let's see."
