AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has ruled out moving for Sampdoria striker Antonio Cassano, but admits Wolfsburg's Edin Dzeko is on their shopping list.
"We never thought about Cassano because we are looking for a lone striker," explained Galliani.
"I fancied him when he was on the move from Real but our commission didn't believe he was worth it. Now we have Alexandre Pato and Ronaldinho so we don't need another one."
Regarding the Wolfsburg striker, Galliani left the door half open. "We will try again. The Germans said he is not for sale, which is legitimate considering that he has still two years left on his contract. But he is our target so we will insist.
"Then there are other options which we will follow if the Bosnian doesn't arrive. All the big players will stay in Milan though at 99.9 per cent while Pato is at 100 per cent - he is the best 19-year-old striker in the world."
