AC Milan chief Galliani: Balotelli arrival just like Ronaldinho

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani says Mario Balotelli's arrival has become an instant money-spinner.

AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani says Mario Balotelli's arrival has become an instant money-spinner.

The former Manchester City striker struck a brace on debut in victory over Udinese yesterday.

"I believe that the arrival of Balotelli is comparable to that of Ronaldinho, even at the level of jerseys sold," said Galliani.

"I believe that the President (Silvio Berlusconi) has always been close to the team, but the country's economy does not allow us to spend huge amounts and leave the budget in heavy red.

"I believe that if we are good at looking to the future, we'll continue to win in Italy and in Europe without economic madness. However, we will need patience because we are a young team under construction, with an attack which is young. We are doing well, but there is still a long way to go."
