AC Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani has welcomed back Kaka.
The former Real Madrid star was unveiled to fans last night.
"I was one of the Kaka orphans when he left, like many of the fans, but this move is not just sentimental," said Galliani.
"We primarily signed him for tactical reasons. Allegri really pushed to have him back and we immediately thought of Kaka after selling Kevin Prince Boateng.
"He didn't want to leave four years ago, it was Milan who made the decision after the significant courtship of Real Madrid.
"Our relationship with him never ended, he was always in our hearts. We knew, sooner or later, that we would bring him home.
"We have wanted him for the last two years and Kaka has underlined his affection to Milan by making a substantial economical sacrifice."
