AC Milan chief Barbara Berlusconi has called for Italian football to reform.
FIGC President Giancarlo Abete handed in his resignation following the Azzurri's shock exit from the tournament in Brazil at the group stage.
"The governance of Italian football has to be reformed," Berlusconi told ANSA.
"The spaces should be filled by people in their forties. We need people with vision."
