After victory at Catania, AC Milan captain Paolo Maldini confirmed he will be hanging up his boots at the end of the season.

"The decision has been taken and it was well thought out," said Maldini. "There is pride and conviction for me in having made the right choice.

"Some doubted my last summer would arrive, including me. But I know the choice I made was well thought out."
