AC Milan boss Pippo Inzaghi insists Stephan El Shaarawy will stay. The striker is being linked with a move away.

"As long as I'm at Milan, he will stay here," said Inzaghi. "We talk every day, we are teammates, and I think there is mutual respect between us.

"It's up to me to put him out there on the field and try to get him to do better.

"He's always played, though I'm not sure how many were as a starter. He has played a lot in the 4-3-3, but there's a lot of competition and everyone has to fight for their place.

"I have plenty of choice. I have a great relationship with him, and my respect for him hasn't changed.

"I hope he can find the consistency in performance and goals that will allow him to make a real leap in quality."
