AC Milan boss Pippo Inzaghi defended his selection after their defeat to Genoa.
Inzaghi went with Jeremy Menez and Giampaolo Pazzini on the day.
On Menez's chances, Inzaghi said: "He probably didn't see Montolivo the first time, on the second was one-on-one with Perin and in the third the other players were well-marked. We try to play and it would've been a real step up for our position in the table, but it's no coincidence Genoa are third and beat Juventus.
"Genoa had gone to a five-man defence and I thought Pazzini's movements in the box would benefit us in that situation. I have many strikers at my disposal and they all deserve to play.
