AC Milan boss Inzaghi: Cerci deal was always priority

AC Milan boss Pippo Inzaghi is delighted with their swoop for Alessio Cerci.

Cerci was snapped up last week from Atletico Madrid.

"Since the summer my priority was Cerci," the Rossoneri coach said.

"You [the media] all know that I was going to ask the President for Cerci, he has unique abilities and I can see that he's motivated and has a desire to prove himself.

"He's trained a little, but he doesn't have much game time under his belt, but I can see that he's eager to do well.

"Everyone knows his qualities, up front we have players with different attributes. It's up to me to see if I'll be able to fit them all into a system. I have an idea of what he [Cerci] can do thanks to training.

"He can help us out by coming on in these next few games. The fitness tests went well. Even at this early stage he can help us out for 20-25 minutes in a game."
