AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti is delighted to see Juventus captain Alessandro del Piero back to his best.

Reflecting on Del Piero's superb recent form, Ancelotti said: "What happened to Del Piero has already happened here: with Paolo Maldini, another is Pippo Inzaghi, who has succeeded in 2007 by scoring in the final.

"I believe that Del Piero has never dropped off. He just had some dips in form, which is normal.

"The difference is that from years ago he has had a passion for this sport that allows him to do extraordinary things."
