AC Milan boss Massimiliano Allegri admits he wants to find a new midfield signing.
Allegri is seeking someone to replace Andrea Pirlo, who has joined Juventus.
"I'm in daily contact with Vice-President Adriano Galliani, but I'll leave the transfer market up to him as he has shown over time that he is a master," Allegri told Sky Sport Italia.
"I've spoken about many players with the club. Galliani will sign the one player who will be of most use.
"We want a left-sided midfielder with an eye for goal, someone who can replace Andrea Pirlo in the squad."
Stories today suggest that Napoli's Hamsik is Allegri's preferred choice and the Coach says he would fit the bill.
"The objective is a left midfielder. Hamsik is somebody who can play in that role, but there are many more. The most difficult thing is finding a player worthy of Milan."
