AC Milan boss Max Allegri plans to field Thiago Silva in midfield for the remainder of the first-half of the season.
Allegri feels he doesn't have the options among his midfielders to fill the void left by Andrea Pirlo's move to Juventus and instead will push Thiago Silva further forward as a stop gap.
Corriere dello Sport says Allegri has made the decision with Philippe Mexes now fully fit and ready to make his Milan debut this weekend.
Allegri has discussed his midfield concerns with Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani and is pushing for a new playmaker to be signed in January.
