AC Milan coach Massimiliano Allegri has confirmed Marco Amelia is set to leave.

The goalkeeper announced his decision on Twitter last week.

"Christian Abbiati has always been first choice and when he had problems I picked Gabriel. Amelia asked the club if he could leave and at the moment Gabriel is staying at Milan," said Allegri.
