AC Milan beat Sampdoria as buzzing Gattuso says: I'm my players' enemy

AC Milan coach Rino Gattuso was delighted with victory over Sampdoria.

Jacky Bonaventura hit the first-half winner for Milan as they triumphed 1-0 at the San Siro.

With momentum now with Milan, Gattuso was asked how his management had impacted on his players: "Concerns for a coach are part of the game, no one is calm when he goes to sleep, I always think I have not done enough, it is part of the coach's job.

"I am a bread and wine coach, on the field I am not a friend of footballers, but off the field I like to listen to them, joke with them, but when I have the whistle in the mouth we are 'enemies', we do not know each other.

"Now we have to go on like this, but the bulk of the merit is the players. But all this is not enough, there are still 13 matches left, we have a Cup semi-final and a Europa League semi-final where we are not yet qualified. We must recover the energy, then we will see where we will finish."
