AC Milan attacker Robinho has defended his role in the collapse of his move to Santos.
Santos have blamed the player's personal demands to the deal falling through.
"It is true that, as reported by Santos, that my asking price was high and Milan were not willing to reduce it," a statement on his official website read.
"For my part, I would have given up 35 per cent of my salary to return to Santos.
"Unfortunately, with the currently leadership, it is impossible for any new negotiations to open up."
