AC Milan are ahead of Juventus in the battle for Roma defender Matteo Ferrari.
Ferrari's deal expires in June and with little chance of an agreement over a new contract he is expected to leave Roma on a Bosman.
Milan see Ferrari's versatility as crucial, with Paolo Maldini and Cafu both leaving at the end of the season.
