AC Milan ace Ibrahimovic insists Champions League no longer obsession
AC Milan ace Zlatan Ibrahimovic says he is no longer obsessed with winning the Champions League.
Speaking to UEFA’s official magazine on the premier European competition, the Swede claims his personal record in the competition doesn’t bother him anymore.
“If you make winning something too important, you will only end up not winning it.
“Now I point to all the trophies that I can win and if I do win the European Cup then great, and if I don’t win it then I don’t.
“And this does not diminish my career because I did everything I could.
“If I retire today I would say that I am very happy with my career. You win titles because you play with champions - they are the people that allow you to win, it is not an individual matter.
“My goal has always been to become a player who was as complete as possible. I believe I have achieved that, I know what I can do and I am ready to sacrifice to succeed.
“You do not win because you are number one, but because the team is number one.”“The Champions League? I’m happy even without having ever won it. Many years ago my goal was to win it at all costs.
