Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich plans a management reshuffle in the summer.
The Telegraph says the impending departure of sporting director Frank Arnesen, and his effective deputy in head of senior scouting Lee Congerton, has led to a re-think as to how the club organises itself.
Abramovich is considering hiring a director of football, with West Ham United manager Avram Grant a leading candidate.
However the key decision, beyond who will be the manager, is likely to be a new chief scout.
