Barcelona hero Eric Abidal has recommended a defensive signing to his old club.

Abidal can see a weakness at fullback and believes Barca sports chief Robert Fernandez should move for AS Monaco fullback Djibril Cisse.

He told El Mundo Deportivo: "I would like Barça to recruit Djibril Sidibé from Monaco.

"Looking at the current strength and needs of the club, I will tell you they need Sidibé to accompany Sergi Roberto on the flanks.

"But they can be reinforced in all the lines (of the team)."
