Chelsea are fixing for a £20million move for winger Pedro, with interest from Liverpool and Arsenal, but Eric Abidal has urged Barcelona to keep their star.
The 27-year-old Spaniard has fallen down the pecking order behind the terrific trio of Lionel Messi, Luis Suarez and Neymar and will find it difficult to break back into Luis Enrique's side next season.
However, former Barca defender Abidal, who is looking likely to become the club's sporting director if Joan Laporta wins the upcoming election, thinks Barca should not let him go.
Abidal told AS: "Players such as Pedro cannot be allowed to go. I know him as a player but also as a person.
"He is a player who fits into the first team very well. If Laporta wins, we will look at his future from July 19."
