Eric Abidal has backed Barcelona teammate Andres Iniesta in hitting out at Cristiano Ronaldo. Real Madrid ace Ronaldo angered Barca's players during Sunday's clash with his constant complaining to the referee, particularly for a controversial penalty claim during the 1-0 defeat.

"He can do whatever he wants on the field, sometimes to annoy our team, it seems that he was always protesting because for him everything is wrong, but we continued with our work," said Abidal.

"It was good that Andres was angry with him and told the referee to watch what he does."

There was a laser being shown from the stands during the match and when asked if it affected the Barca players, Abidal laughed: "I think Barca's play is so quick they couldn't keep up with us!"
