Aberdeen have taken Manchester City youngster Paul Marshall for trials.

Dons boss Mark McGhee hopes to take Marshall on-loan in January.

"I watched Marshall play for City's reserve team and there is no doubt he is a good footballer," said McGhee. "He's a tall left-sided central midfielder who is a good passer of the ball and different from anything we have.

"We'd be looking at taking the boy on loan initially, but I think he would be available to make that permanent."
