Aberdeen in talks for Nigerian midfielder

Aberdeen boss Mark McGhee has confirmed the club are in talks with Nigeria midfielder Paul Obiefule. The Dons tried to sign the 23-year-old last summer, but could not agree terms with his current club, Norwegian side Lyn Oslo.

"We have invited the lad over for talks," said McGhee of Obiefule, who has been unable to train with Aberdeen due to a knee injury.

"He's a good player, so we are keen to get him in. He is expected to be fully fit by the turn of the year."

Obiefule said: "Hopefully, the clubs can sort something out. At the moment, they are trying to find out how easy it would be for me to move here."
