Aberdeen will try to secure the services of Niall McGinn by offering him a new deal.
The 25-year old, scorer of 22 goals this season, was the subject of interest from other clubs in January and with the Dons expecting the same again, manager Derek McInnes has confirmed that there has been a move to keep him at Pittodrie.
"I can only take Niall at his word and he says he is really enjoying being at Aberdeen," he said.
"He is well thought of here by us and the fans and hopefully that can be good for us.
"We will look to speak to his agent in the next few weeks about a new contract. He has still got a year left and he has intimated he is going to be here next year so that is positive.
"We need a few more players like that at Aberdeen. Keeping players like Niall and bringing in a few of a similar quality is our aim."
