Aberdeen midfielder Derek Young believes Kilmarnock should keep former Dons boss Jimmy Calderwood at Rugby Park on a permanent basis. Calderwood took charge at Killie in January on a short-term deal following Jim Jefferies' departure but after a promising start the club have found themselves embroiled in a relegation battle after losing six matches on the bounce.
He said: "I read that they had offered him a deal and if he did sign it would be a massive coup for Kilmarnock.
"It was a massive coup for them getting him in the first place as I think he has turned the club around. Some of our team know the boys from Kilmarnock and I know they are extremely happy with the appointment, so if he did stay there it would be fantastic for the club.
"If he doesn't, he'll go somewhere bigger, I have no doubt about that. I think he has shown in the few months he has been there what a good manager he is."
