Aberdeen's Pawlett cops ban for simulation

Aberdeen winger Peter Pawlett has been banned for two matches by the Scottish Football Association for diving.

The 22-year old was charged for simulation when he went down easily in the box in the eventual 1-1 draw with Dundee on the weekend.

Niall McGinn scored the ensuing penalty to resign the Dees to the First Division but Pawlett has been sanctioned for his actions.

The former St Johnstone loanee has been banned for diving in the past, receiving a two-match suspension in December 2011, and was also booked for diving twice in a month earlier this year, once against Dundee whilst with the Saints, and also against Hibernian.

Pawlett has until Thursday to decide whether to accept the latest ban or appeal.
