Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes was delighted that his side managed to hold on for all three points at Inverness on the weekend.
The Dons led 4-0 at half-time thanks to a brace from Barry Robson and goals from Peter Pawlett and Niall McGinn before conceding three times in the second half to Billy McKay (two) and Graeme Shinnie.
After the fascinating match, McInnes was relieved to see Aberdeen come through with the goods which allowed them to move up to third on the table.
"I was delighted to get the three points. We came here with that objective," he said.
"We managed to get ourselves 4-0 up at half-time, but we knew how dangerous Inverness would be if they got a goal early in the second half.
"I thought in the first half we were excellent. We showed that bit of quality and style, but the big thing for me was the energy of the players and putting the opposition under pressure.
"However, in the second half we opened the door for them and they nearly came right through."
The Dons have now won three matches in a row to sit equal on 32 points with second-placed Dundee United, ten behind league leaders Celtic.
