Aberdeen's Magennis gets Northern Ireland call-up

Aberdeen striker Josh Magennis has been called up to Michael O'Neill's Northern Ireland squad for World Cup qualifying.

The Northern Irish side take on Russia in Belfast on March 22 four days before Israel visit with Magennis now added to the squad, in to replace Derby County's Jamie Ward who has withdrawn due to injury.

Magennis, who scored a double in the 4-3 loss to Celtic on Saturday, will now be up for selection as O'Neill attempts to bridge the gap on Group F's top three of Russia, Israel and Portugal.

Northern Ireland sit fourth on three points from four matches with Russia on 12 and Israel and Portugal both on seven.
