Aberdeen manager Craig Brown says he will allow Kari Arnason to leave the club this summer.

The 29-year old Iceland international soon comes out of contract and recently rejected an offer to remain at Pittodrie with Brown confirming he has since made other plans, leaving the door open for Arnason to depart.

"We were forced to plan ahead when he turned down our offer several months ago," said Brown in the Evening Express.

"We then secured Gavin Rae and Stephen Hughes on longer deals, and we feel we now have plenty of cover as far as central midfield goes."
