Aberdeen keeper Langfield may go on short-term loan

Aberdeen goalkeeper Jamie Langfield could be sent out on loan as he looks to return to SPL action as soon as possible.

The 31-year old gloveman has not played since having a seizure in the summer but Dons boss Craig Brown feels it may do him the world of good to go out and get reguklar first team football so he can come back to Pittodrie and challenge current number one and two David Gonzalez and Jason Brown.

"We've got to discount Jamie from starting as first choice at the moment until the procedure is over," he said.

"Once that's done and he gets some games under his belt it's a three-way contest for first place in goal.

"A suitable short-term emergency loan of 28 days may get him four or five games with someone who maybe needs a goalkeeper short-term.

"But that's got to be suitable for both ourselves and for Jamie."
