Aberdeen have reportedly failed in their ambitious bid to bring James McFadden to the club.
The Scottish forward was released by Everton following a short-term deal at Goodison Park with Dons boss Craig Brown keen to lure him to Pittodrie.
Brown made a play for McFadden before he joined the Toffees last October and again has pursued the 29-year old who has rejected the clubs overtures.
"McFadden made it clear he would rather stay in England. I asked him to inform us if he has a change of heart but I'm not expecting that to happen.""We would like to have McFadden at Pittodrie but that one doesn't look likely," Brown told the Daily Record.
