Aberdeen confirm arrival of ex-Rangers, Leicester, Norwich midfielder Hughes

Aberdeen have confirmed that free agent Stephen Hughes will join the club on trial this week.

The 29-year old midfielder is out of contract after he finished a short-term deal with Motherwell earlier this January but will now link up with the Dons who are in need of some midfield reinforcement.

A statement on the club’s official website yesterday confirmed that the former Rangers, Leicester City and Norwich City man would train with Craig Brown’s squad this week.

"Craig Brown this afternoon confirmed Stephen Hughes will arrive at Pittodrie tomorrow to commence training at the club for a couple of days,” the statement read.
