Aberdeen managing director Duncan Fraser has rubbished reports Mark McGhee or Willie Miller could lose their jobs this summer. Rumours have been circulating that manager McGhee and director of football Miller's positions are under threat following the club's worst season for six years.

Fraser told, RedTV: "This is a village in reality and stories grow arms and legs.

"Nothing's going to happen on those fronts.

"The team that's in place just now has been working a number of months, realising there's a lot of rebuilding to be done this summer. "That's the end of it as far as I'm concerned."

He added: "I'm confident that they're all going to be in place next year and I'm confident that we'll get a better squad together for next season."

Fraser admitted it had been a "difficult" season but was confident of a good start to the next campaign.

"Fans being fans will come back if they see a successful team on the park," said Fraser.

Fraser also defended the club's transfer policy and pointed out the number of clubs in the United Kingdom who were living beyond their means.

"We just have to look at the horror stories - and more will come out," he added.

"I'm determined Aberdeen Football Club won't be one of them." Insisting the club's future lay in youth development, he added of the fans: "Players with affinity to the club and to the city are what they want."
