With reserve keeper Derek Soutar to leave Pittodrie at the end of the season, Calderwood has been searching for a back-up for first-choice Jamie Langfield.

After failing to agree a deal for Dutch goalkeeper Stefan Postma, Calderwood is now setting his sights on the 28-year-old Irishman, who has failed to establish himself with the Bluebirds this season.

The former West Ham keeper is currently on loan at Bournemouth and almost signed for Dundee United during the January transfer window.
