Aberdeen boss relieved Miller stayed at Pittodrie

Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood managed to retain the services of star striker Lee Miller throughout the transfer window. He said in the Evening Express: "I'm delighted the window has closed with Lee still here. There was always a fear that someone might try to snatch Lee away because he is in great form and is back involved with Scotland.

"For my money, Lee is now the best striker in Scotland and you can be sure clubs in England have taken note of his form. But I reckon it's as good for Lee as it is for Aberdeen that nothing happened.

"We might have been made an offer we couldn't turn down but I don't think it would have been beneficial for Lee to leave.

"He is playing every week at Aberdeen, which is why he is back in with Scotland.

"The fans love him and everyone at Pittodrie does as well, so it would be good for him to stay here for at least another year.

"Other events might decide that, but I'm hoping that will be the case."
