Derek McInnes is keen on taking on the Sunderland job but is seeking reassurances regarding the budget he will receive.
A host of names have been linked with the vacant managerial post at Sunderland following the departure of David Moyes and Aberdeen boss McInnes is a name that has been strongly touted to take over at the Stadium of Light this summer.
According to The Telegraph, McInnes would be interested in the Sunderland job but is wary about accepting an offer from the Black Cats due to the severe financial restrictions imposed by club chief Ellis Short.
