Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes is being linked with West Bromwich Albion.

The Daily Star says the 42-year-old could prove a big hit with seriously disillusioned fans, having spent three years at the club as a player.

McInnes, who won two Scotland caps while with the Baggies, has the one big advantage of being someone the supporters would take to instantly.

Pepe Mel was axed yesterday after only four months in charge as West Brom escaped relegation by one place.
