Aberdeen boss Calderwood fumes at Fik

Aberdeen boss Jimmy Calderwood is furious after being snubbed by Dutch striker Robert Fik.

Fik had passed a medical and looked set to join up at Pittodrie but has decided against uprooting his family.

"A lot of people at the club have done a lot of hard work to get Robert to join us," Calderwood told the P&J. "He didn't even have the good manners to phone me and tell me he wouldn't be coming. Instead, he got his agent to call and that has really riled me."

Calderwood had hoped to make WKE forward Fik his fifth summer signing, but the Dutchman turned down the offer after being give a Friday ultimatum.

"We had him over to see us twice and he seemed really enthusiastic about coming here," Calderwood added.

"I know he had a big decision to make about moving his family to a new country.

"I have had the same kind of decision to make myself in the past.

"But the annoying thing is that I did not get to speak to the player myself at the end."
