Aberdeen boss Brown: 'Hodgson will do as well as anyone with England'

Aberdeen manager Craig Brown is of firm belief that his old friend Roy Hodgson will do a great job as head of the England national team.

The former Switzerland, Inter Milan, Finland and Fulham boss left his post at West Bromwich Albion to take the reins of the Three Lions at the start of May and Brown is confident he will be a success in the job because of his vast experience in the game.

"I've always said that charisma comes from results and not vice versa," Brown told SunSport prior to this summer's Euros in which England meet France, Sweden and Ukraine in the group stage.

"Roy will have no problems on the technical side. He's got all the experience in the world.

"He'll do as well as anyone will with England.

"Of course, any bad result they get, he'll get pelters. But he's got as good a pedigree as any gaffer at the finals. He is meticulous, diligent and will know all about England's opponents over there.

"He's a friend and I like to see my friends doing well - whether they're the manager of England or not!"
