Abel Resino says it's a dream come true to be named new Atletico Madrid coach.
Resino was appointed yesterday after the dismissal of Javier Aguirre and was immediately presented to the Madrid media.
"I am very happy to fulfill a dream that was very important for me when I started with Arrigo Sacchi (as a goalkeeper coach). I have made a great journey to come here and I cannot experience a bigger dream as to train the first team of Atletico Madrid.
"I come with lots of enthusiasm and strength and, above all, I want to help this project to demonstrate again what it is. By league placing, by name and staff there is more than enough to give a higher yield and, especially, to give joy to the fans.
"Tell all of Atletico that I am the same as them. I'll give everything I have and more."
Resino hopes to name Santi Denia and Miguel Peiró as his assistants.
