Abel Hernandez eyeing Hull safety after vital brace

Hull City forward Abel Hernandez is eyeing Premier League survival after helping the Tigers to a crucial 3-1 win over AFC Bournemouth on Saturday.

The 26-year-old Uruguayan striker, who has recently returned following a two-month absence due to hernia surgery, scored a brace as the Tigers came from behind to defeat the Cherries in manager Marco Silva's first league game in charge of the club.

"It was a good win and a good performance and so we can look forward now," Hernandez told the club's official website.

"I am happy to score two very good goals, but the most important thing was that the team got a very important win, so I am very happy.

"We are happy with this win and we need to win more games now because the important thing this season is that we stay in the Premier League."

The result saw Hull move to 18th on the table, joining 17th-placed Crystal Palace on 16 points.
