AC Milan fullback Ignazio Abate took aim at former teammate Mario Balotelli after victory over Lazio. Balotelli made his debut for Liverpool this afternoon, starting in a 3-0 victory away to Tottenham, while his ex-teammates beat Lazio 3-1 in Serie A.
"The Coach said a very important thing in his Press conference, which is that the man comes before the player," Abate told Sky Sport Italia after the final whistle.
"Mario is a truly great player, but he needs to improve in other areas. He needs to take on a lot more responsibility.
"I think that in this group we've got a good mix of experience and youth, but mustn't get ahead of ourselves."
