Dutch coaching legend Aad de Mos has held talks with new A-League franchise Melbourne Heart. The former PSV Eindhoven and Ajax coach was in Melbourne last week for a round of talks with the powerbrokers behind Melbourne Heart.

However, it's understood negotiations ended abruptly over the terms Melbourne Heart were willing to offer De Mos, who promptly flew back to Holland disappointed with the process.

German legend Lothar Matthaus is also in the frame for the Melbourne job.
