A-League Team of the Week - February 13

Wellington Phoenix goalkeeper Danny Vukovic had an amazing week in the final two matches of the 2010/11 A-League regular season.

The 25-year old made an outstanding 13 saves in his side's 2-0 loss to Sydney FC on Wednesday night, keeping out almost everything that came near him.

He even managed to block Nick Carle's penalty and the follow-up before the ball comically bounced off teammate Nick Ward's face and into the back of the net.

For Sydney to have 25 shots and to only score twice is a testament to the brilliant performance produced by Vukovic who is off to Perth Glory next season.

Then on Sunday, the former Central Coast Mariners man had less to do with his hands in the 3-1 win over North Queensland Fury which confirmed Wellington's finals spot, but he did do what so many keepers dream of - scoring a goal.

Vukovic was given the honours of taking a penalty in injury time when the Phoenix were up 2-1 and had no trouble dispatching it past Fury counterpart Sebastian Usai for his first A-League goal.
