A-League season 6 fixture released

The A-League playing fixture for season 2010/11 has been released as the competition for the first time will cater for 11 clubs.

The season kicks off on Thursday August 5 with new club Melbourne Heart hosting the Central Coast Mariners at AAMI Park in what will be the first official league match at the brand new stadium.

The 2009/10 Grand Final replay between Sydney FC and the Melbourne Victory will also feature in Week 1.

Midweek games, which took place over summer last season, will again occur commencing on Wednesday September 15 between the Victory and Wellington Phoenix but this time will go all the way through the season.

Each week will see one team forced to have a bye due to the uneven numbers in the competition and the regular season will finish on February 13 prior to the play-offs commencing.
